Almost tempted to join Golgonath just to get myself... hanged? Almost, not quite. *snicker*We are both of us merchants, and I'll promise you one thing. We will not laugh until we get the money, and we will not cry until we go bankrupt. And guess what? We are going to laugh.

Things that will be said whilst wearing the feather pants:
'The crotch is molting.'
'Really tickles your wee wee don't it?' (extra points if you know what show that came from)
'I wear the pants in this relationship.'
'I could have sworn he said 'leather pants'...'
'Do these feathers make my butt look big?'
'Getting pants'd has taken on a whole new meaning'
'No no BAD KITTY! THAT'S NOT A TOY!'
'Shakin' mah tail feath-ah!'
Clearly the feather pants is only a punishment for a few people. Pyrok isn't one of them.Let's make 'em scream

A (non-mandatory) oath guildmasters can make their members take so that they are truly loyal to the guild. If they break the oath by, say, leaving and becoming a rogue, then they will lose all guild skills? I think it would make for good roleplay and add a sense of loyalty and relief to some of us who worry about our guild secrets... I could see it being used in one of the higher ranks, that a member must make the oath of loyalty to the guild.
... And it doesn't even have to be like a 'hard-coded' implement, but rather, an understood agreement between the member and the guilds' patron? I dunno... Maybe this is a dumb idea. I'm curious as to what you all think!Last edited by Zema; 30 December 2013, 11:13 PM.While you sleep, you begin to dream...

A non mandatory oath that you make people take? Contradictions abound...
Still don't get the stigma attached to rogue guildmembers... or rogues in general. It's like we're just wrong somehow.
What you've come across is a recurring worry for all guild leaders (or at least those who would like to be guild leaders). There's several answers to this problem
1) Nothing you know is secret. At least not for long.
2) Rogue life is NOT easy, from my personal experience, so very, very, very, very few people are going to be rogue for long.
3) Ask the assassins how they deal with rogue assassins.
Flip side, there's uses to having rogue guildmembers... just saying >.>Let's make 'em scream

but that isn't the case always. I am happy that the gods took down what used to be a wiki that had all the skills.
The guild laws usually have punishments for those who share skill information with outrealmers. What's to stop someone
from going rogue and then sharing all the secrets (and not getting in trouble for it) to other people?

off the top of my head, isn't Silas a rogue Forsaken? >.>

For example purposes only:
--------------------------------------------------
Apprentice Pyromancer: I'm leaving. I hate you guys. Pyromancers suck, and so does Golgonath! I'm gonna be a storm wardennnnn!
Jaquen: -banishes/enemies/removes guild skills-
Ex-Apprentice Pyromancer: -quits forever-
or;
Lady Pyromancer: -tralalala- I love you Jaquen!
Jaquen: We can be together foreverrrrrr!
(Ten days later)
Lady Pyromancer: It just isn't working.
Jaquen: I'll show you what just isn't working! -removes her guild skills-
Malic: What am I doing in this example? You can't punish someone for no reason, Jaquen...
Jaquen: Too late!
Lady Pyromancer: -shit outta luck unless some Divine is going to give her the skills back-
or;
Assassin: I will leave and away into the world on my own! Nobody can stop me! I'm on fireeeeee!
-informs everyone of his departure, returns his toxin kits, and leaves with no problem whatsoever-
(Two days later)
Assassin's Guildmaster: -logs on- .........-suspects assassin might tell secrets-.......-removes deserter's skills-
Assassin: Wtf?!
--------------------------------------------------
Basically, even if you take their skills away, you're just screwing them, more or less...people who are going to share "guild secrets" will still find a way, regardless. They would likely just have a copy of their skills, or toxin rubs written down, or whatever. So. Seems kinda pointless in my opinion.

As Shax said, very little to do with playerbase. Rogue pyromancers, if enemied to Golgonath, can't access flame. Rogue demonologists can't create demons. Rogue magesofanykind can't get to their spire. They struggle to find food (or survive off Nisse) and have little to do.
Silas is a rogue Forsaken, yes. Which makes it quite a lot easier, since he doesn't need to eat anything...but he is hardly active, either.Tick tock goes the clock until you feel my ire. You'll lose your voice and turn to rock and lose what you desire.

I'm..active! I contribute a lot more than the other statues, thankyouverymuch. And no, Silas is not rogue. Although Forsaken, of all guilds, probably suffer the least from not having a guild/city.
Don't worry about 'secrets'. 95% of the time, anything you think is secret, the playerbase already knows or has known. May be off by a margin I am unaware of, but the gist is true. This game is old. Looking on the website and the old news posts, I remember being around for the stuff that came out in 2006, which is when I first started playing - and the first welcoming post was from the start of 2005. We're going on 9 years here in a few months, and while yes, things have been slowly released into the game and not everything has been around from the start, I think it's a tad silly to try and think you're the first person to garner some piece of knowledge. Won't hold true for whatever the new guilds are, but for MOST other things, it should.

And just to prove I did actually read the topic, I agree with the other old people, secrets never last. Sorry, Ysallyra, its true.
I had a good laugh, thanks Shax.Last edited by Malic; 6 January 2014, 03:17 AM.We don't need no water, ....
