There's a website with the Brawling skills all the way done on it. There's also a forum thread here with them. I don't need to master them to understand what my character does not know. Lol.
I agree with Joscelin, it would be nice for that, I mean it's not priority number one, of course. But it would be nifty. I also agree with Lawrence though... maybe it should wear off in a year, or so. Enough time for it to make a difference and for you to notice, and if you are active enough... short enough that you can earn the 250 crystals back to do the quest again.
I don't know what trades give you extra skills, but it would be nice to see if there were hidden bonuses to being transcendent in them, like Joscelin mention... if it boosted Smithing skill or maybe more herbs per preparation in Apothecary (more than we already get, that is.) Things like that. Would be interesting.
For some reason, Transcendent Melee person is scary to me. Especially Omni-Transcendent. Haha.
Derris - the only thing I know of with an actual transcendent skill is apothecary, though I won't give away what it is.
We are both of us merchants, and I'll promise you one thing. We will not laugh until we get the money, and we will not cry until we go bankrupt. And guess what? We are going to laugh.
Personally, i think you should master a skill before you start tearing it apart, there may be things you don't know about...
such as what being unsurpassable in brawling nets you. (Hint: it hurts more) Interesting story behind it, if you find anyone
old enough to remember 'how it used to be'.
Not that i'm bashing your idea, i think helmets adding more damage would make sense, though there'd have to be some kind of drawback, like a headache or something (read: dazing) Just for further clarification: I'm a brawling nut here... sorta, kinda. I like using it, it's satisfying, though some attack methods were overlooked (with a reason likely) such as uppercuts, but maybe things like this will be added in at a later date... who knows.
Hey, smart one. The guy's on your side, he's just pointing out the fact that you should learn the ins and outs of the skill before you start whining about it. I'm aware of the site you're jabbering about and (surprise surprise) nowhere on it does it go further in depth about the skill moreso than "Headbutting your opponent causing blindness." So listen to him.
Personally, I would rather not there be a helmet bonus. While yea, damage does suck in the beginning, Aiolos has more than proved that headbutting alone can win some pretty nifty battles for people that don't tank (though once I became a strong enough templar, it didn't affect me nearly as much). Increasing the damage to headbutting would pretty much bring merchants+co up to the level of combat guilds, which is unrealistic at best.
...lol, "troll".
Sir Ichiban drools all over himself.
You say, "Ready? Ready?"
You say, "Go get it!"
You throw a light crystal to the up.
You have recovered balance.
Sir Ichiban is no longer following you.
Sir Ichiban has just ridden up, astride a warhorse.

Edit two - Have there be an ability in Warfare to allow mounts to attack either the arms or legs of an opponent. Either let it be an instant break, delayed, or have to be two attacks and then instant. If they already have one arm broken and arms are attacked again, could be an instant break.

Me thinks Melee guild have a good enough arm breaking skill. Granted, it could work on both arms, one arm, or no arms. But it has good balance recovery, the person doesn't get a breaking text until you try to use said arm. If I recall correctly. It's been a while since I talked to Melee person. I think the Warfare skilset in regards to mounts is pretty decent. It could use a tweak or two, but I think the abilities of mounts is pretty good. Granted, I've only ever been a Merchant and Runesmith... multiple times, so what do I know?
Yeah. Melee has a skill that breaks arms, no sense in adding something to Warfare as well. And on top of that, there are two different Brawling skills for arm-breaking. Why add more?
Minstrel Sharallin sings: "The lord of revenants is a withered man, sunken by age and evil. But his blood is sweet, say the young men - and they should know?"
Jaethor, God of Enlightenment tells you, "((Stop breaking Akanbar.))"
Because that's a part of evolving combat. You can't use the brawling and melee skills at the same time. That is hardly an argument.
Edit: If they don't want ideas and are going to mostly ignore skillset ideas, it should be said now before I or anyone else continues to contribute different combat related things.
Eh... butterfly is pretty random. Dunno which arm is gonna break. I wish that in addition to randomly breaking an arm, it would give an 'arthritis' affliction as well. Not too overpowered cause you can easily use an auto-wield/re-equip script and have an apply warming trigger. *edit* but yeah, if mounts in warfare can break limbs.... every Runesmith, or what's left of the guild, would flick a huge birdie at Golem and switch to Templars.

we are by no means saying that your ideas aren't worth anything, because hey... we're mortals. But skillsets are generally about diversity and a versatile use of skills. Ergo why brawling has two skills to break arms, melee has an arm breaking skill, and runesmiths do as well in golems. -shrug-
I would have to agree. You have to simply find new combinations to using your skillsets to your own advantage and surprising the enemy. most people get to tied into their guild sets, they forget about the rest. It can be a great advantage for you to play around with it. If you don't want to die, just say to the person your going to fight you want to go till one of your fate runes pop, then action should stop. There will of course still be occasional deaths from afflictions still, or followers (golems, mounts ect).
Doors for indoor rooms in ships would be nice. Got me a galleon, but I can't store stuff in it since there isn't a door to lock n' azure it into my captain's cabin. Oh... and maybe special descriptions for ship rooms like city housing would be great too. (For those who've never had a house, every city 5-room house has a unique description for each room. Like, for example, a Elysian 5-room house is completely different from a 5-room Ysallyran house in both look and atmosphere.)
Go me for yanking an idea from last month, to which i have a feasible response after some looking into such things for personal use.... (will not discuss that further)
There's a general rule about room descriptions that I've noticed, most of them have things that will ALWAYS be there, there. (ie static objects) NPCs and the like will never be mentioned, neither will your possible point of entry as its all relative (there are some nifty coding exemptions to this but that's not the point)
My point for the lack of ship room descriptions is this, how would one go about describing something that would move? You see over beyond the railings of a ship, so the scenery would constantly change, which is i've learned a nuisance to write. Inner areas like the cabin or the lower decks would probably be more feasible, but only if there were no windows.
Till that issue is ingeniously resolved, I guess you'd just have to use your imagination.
Note: this was researched on a whim, not for any ulterior reason. really.
