  • Nah, I just don't agree. Guild skills are specializations. Divination is just one example of a guild skill that is weaker than a general skill. There are many in my skill set that are repeated. What is the point if any regular person can have better skills than a person in a guild.
One day I won't suck. Today is not that day.

    • I've given you two or three reasons as to why. If you want to just say 'No, I don't agree.' and 'No, I think guild people should get everything spehsul', I don't quite see the point in trying to help you understand.

      • I mean, in her defense, It's a matter of personal opinion, I don't think she misunderstands you. On the one hand, you get it faster, but on the other, it's a skill that everyone can learn eventually. I honestly agree with both people. While I do believe skills should not be doubled (as I have a hymn of steadfastness and grip, rub in both weapons and melee and other doubles), I can't really complain that loudly that I got rub after a few lessons, while everyone else has to train for considerably longer.

Do not get me wrong, I still groaned when I learned rubbing in weapons, as it was a completely useless skill, one I was excited to learn until I realized I already knew it.

        • Remember...I think I brought up people challenging you than withdrawing from that challenge? Well here is what happens when a person gets killed after withdrawing:

Tainted Lucia tells you, "I'll kill you one day"

Tainted Lucia tells you, "And when i do i'm going to continue killing you,
over and over and over even when your cries for help and your pleas to stop
are loud for everyone in the realm to hear"

You tell Tainted Lucia, "I refuse to fight you anymore Lucia"

Tainted Lucia tells you, "Good maybe then you'll die on your knees."

You tell Tainted Lucia, "I'll take my experience over yours any day...but
again you really need to not withdraw from challenges or perhaps retire from
the life of a warrior class?

Tainted Lucia tells you, "As long as you exist I won't retire, and i'm going
to keep going until I kill you."

You tell Tainted Lucia, "Again, I won't fight you anymore"

Tainted Lucia tells you, "I never said it'd be in a challenge, did i?"

I again would like to say....if you have no means of following through with a challenge to the death....ESPECIALLY after YOU issue the challenge than just don't challenge.

              • Don't know if it's just me...but was in the middle of questing and all of the sudden Akanbar just freezes up. Can't get any commands through, nothing coming back from the mud, nothing. Can't reconnect, so I don't know if Kresslack is just standing around IG right now because I can't fucking log in to see, and if he is and gets zapped for idling and loses a ton of experience because he can't pray...well that's just going to suck.

                • If you close your client, I'm pretty sure that cuts off the connection. Akanbar has a nifty little thing that makes you disappear within like a minute or whatnot if your connection dies. I'm fairly sure that'd take over, but I don't know, I could be spouting total nonsense.

                  • Actually, my laptop overheated and crashed, my client must have closed, but when I got back I had a message saying I've had a warning for idling?

                    • There is a dropped connection 'tick' I guess is the best way to put it, on the server side and it tries to disconnect you if it detects that youre not connected. It's not autoquit, so don't ragequit on me here. Zycandos wrote about it but warned that it can't be expected to catch everything. Our only savior against the perils of dropped connections, faulty wireless signals and general hardware failure, is the almighty autoquit. Also, getting annoyed about warnings is silly, least you didn't get obliterated. And disputing the warning is unadvisable, I mean think about it, we as a general populace of players, do have a history, though suddenly stopping to idle in the middle of a sudden movement cycle seems odd to me.
Long post short, autoquit... Well, you know the rest.

maybe this is why the gods are swift in their judgement of idlers, we know we should use autoquit, but some of us don't though I do think obliteration is a harsh penalty for it, just trapping them in aurelias' grove should suffice. Or don't trap them and if they scurry off right as they are in the grove break-a them legs all quiet like and pop them back in. There us some grand poetry to obliteration I realise.

                            • I don't even have the luxury of lagging, I just disconnect every three minutes or so.

Really aggravating, as it never used to happen before.

                                One example

                                Divination in Intonation
                                Presences in Intelligence

Presences is available to everyone. It is superior to divination because it doesn't use mana and it doesn't use focus or balance if you find something. You can spam presences.

I'm fine with repeat skills, but guild skills should generally be a little better than those available to everyone.

Try having counter acting skills. I have survey in runelore which is supposed to tell me if there is any patterns in a room. The same syntax is used in the skill in awareness, so if I survey it goes directly to the awareness one therefore killing that guild skill.
