I would like to start writing books again for Akanbar, but here's my problem:
I have no idea what to write.

Sure I could maybe revive and revise that old series with the Dragons, but I'd rather not. I wound up going in a direction I didn't like.
Now for the record, I do not plan out my books completely. Naturally if i did, then I'd be able to keep myself from going in directions I don't want to be in.

So in a flash of keyboard smashing inspiration, I decided to open up to some ideas. What do those of you who are actually reading this want written in a book?
I'm open to just about anything, there's actually alot of things I haven't written before. And i figure this'd be good practice.

I just really want to second what's already been said here. Writing Akanbar history is not a simple task and shouldn't be taken up by the general population unless what they want to write about is already supported by tangible fact. I'll also say that we do enjoy fleshing out lore and making the world a richer place to live and play in, so while it isn't always first priority, it is something we consider and will certainly put together as time goes on.In a more general manner, by all means, write books. That's why you have the option, and city libraries now to put your finished texts in. Just try to leave general history to the experts.

Ashrabia, I also really like the history side of things.


As for what Ysallyra was like before they became civilized and had a city, I actually remember when I first played Akanbar, Ysallyra didn't have a city. They had four seperate villages hidden in different parts of the forest.

The vote on whether to build a single large city for Ysallyra instead of having the four seperate villages was a huge deal in the realm at the time.

In the end the vote for the city won out because it was argued that it would be easier to defend a city from raids then four seperate villages/locations.
(This was well before armies were implemented so the Golgonath players just raided everywhere for fun, with no fear of having armies come kick their gates down!)

Also just a note, we as players can't write up say, the history of Orin or Althon's life accurately without divine help and approval but what we probably can do is write our own experiences of in game events. Stories about other players and ourselves. (Player history as opposed to npc history.)
