  • What you like about Akanbar:

Every mud has their own little perks and things that keep people comming back and that are enjoyable. Akanbar may not be a huge mud, with tons of features, but I'm finding myself growing quite fond of it. Here are some things I really like about Akanbar:

    - Warfare AND Seafaring: That's a big accomplishment for any MUD in it's own right.

    - Crystals: You gain them just by being active in the land. You have the option to buy Master Crystals, but it's not necessary to progress in your skills. I hate MUD's where you have to basically donate a ton of money just to get any skills.

    - Free to Play: Probably the most attractive feature. You don't have to pay to enjoy and be a part of this world, that we all get to shape. That alone will keep me here.

    - Balance: Three cities: Evil, Good, Neutral. You can guess which is which. There's something for everyone. Also the "realms" thing is highly unique.
The Strong may rule the Weak, but the Clever will always rule the Strong.

If they did ANYTHING other then...'You are in suchandsuch a realm' on your score, or giving you a single different emote, then I'd wholeheartedly agree - As it stands, that point can go lay in a ditch somewhere.

Zycandos and Jaethor's karaoke rendition of 'I Feel Pretty'.

Jaethor goes solo with 'The Sound of Music'.

Minstrel Sharallin sings: "The lord of revenants is a withered man, sunken by age and evil. But his blood is sweet, say the young men - and they should know?"

              ..
              .

I like the lolchallenges we have and that they take 5 minutes to get the experience back for, whereas other games is foreverrr.

              ..
              .

And the guilds being tied to cities. That makes me wanna just die from lurrve. (Sarcasm.)

We can always look at HELP GOLGONATH and get that same result.

                          I actually like that feature.

I'm mostly doing game features, cause the rest would take too long.
                          - The agriculture tradeskill. I did a bit of research into it and whoa is it awesome. Kudos to whoever coded that
                          - Sailing (I think everyone who knows me knows that)
                          - The little tidbits in game that you randomly discover (incense making, putting flowers on altars, etc)
                          - The ignore skill
                          - How most areas work with my zmud mapper (EXCEPT YSALLYRA FOREST IS A PAIN)
                          - How the guilds are distributed the same. You have a weapons one, mage one, merchant one and 50/50 affliction weapon one
                          - The first scissor cut into a fresh piece of construction paper.

You throw a light crystal to the up.
                          You have recovered balance.

NOOOO! It hurts my heart to see Golgonath fell so fast after Aaridan left.

Actually, it makes me fell better, that just seemed a little more funny in the post ^.^

What I like, is how I can continue to survive in Akanbar, despite political turnovers, senseless wars, inane shouting matches and continuously putting my foot in my mouth.(tastes better without the boot) Things like this wouldn't work in reality. (could you imagine shouting and the whole world hearing you?) yes, I know that is the point of a fantasy game, but even fantasy worlds have limits, as do its inhabitants.

Also, a realm that does not change with the times becomes obsolete, and turns into a ruin. History is full of peoples (in the sense of empires and cultures) that no longer exist because they refused to change.
                              Let's make 'em scream
