Hate complaining but there are so many skills here that are usually automatic in other games.

For some reason, I feel that posting entire skillsets isn't the intended use of the forum.

Probably not, but they're general skillsets, and I am by no means the only person to have them completed. As well, seeing as there have been complaint after complaint about it from a handful of people for a consistent time period, I felt like something had to be done. This way, they can plan accordingly, and it saves time for me taking the time to tell when a certain skill was or where it was each time they had a question.

If a mod(Read: Divine) wants to take down the thread, so be it. Maybe they'll help the people learn.

You could refer people to the help scrolls about general skills when they ask you something about them....but there aren't any.

Also...if this gets taken down, I have it saved. -shifty-

First of all, did you just say a reply and then disprove any way of going through with said reply?

Second, they don't ask general questions, so a general help file (which most of them are, really), won't exactly help them.

Isn't that the point though of being the more experience trained player? To help and offer suggestions to players as they shouldn't be knowledgeable on the general skills? Sort of takes away the fun if the novice already knows all the general skills they can achieve. All it becomes now is "Hey, when does Rage come in Brawling?" instead of "What skills would be useful in Brawling that I may need?"

Also I am not sure if you remember when you first started to play and achieved new skills, but for me it was enjoyable when I discovered a new skill that I didn't know about. Oh wow, I got Rage that helps curing fear...I wonder how I can use that more efficiently.....

Why don't we just post all the afflictions and their cures while we are at it? So we can remove all conversations totally? Heaven forbid a novice asking us a question regarding skills and we get annoyed so much that we just post each skillset on a forum.

Cocerning toxins, afflictions and what cures them, I think it would be perfectly good role play if someone were to write a book about health which included afflictions and their cures. Reading and writing to pass information along is wonderful role play and I think it should be encouraged.

I might get to work on that book myself! Thanks for the idea!

Yes, in my mind that would fit better into the roleplay nature rather than copy and pasting exact skillsets/cures on a forum. A book would allow people to study and learn in game. Perhaps such a book could be used as a test of some sort. The guildmaster could lend the book to a novice and tell them to read the book, after a few years the Guildmaster can reclaim the book and test the novice on what the book holds. Great idea, make two copies....hehe

How could you not know about the skills? Surely you had people always playing with you that had stuff you did not? I did at least. I always watched people like Sharallin, Leyil, Drogo, Baten, Eruzius, Arthos, Blux, even Zaranthes a few times, I mean the list goes on - I knew the skills we had, and they do as well, it's not a secret.

It wouldn't help people anyways, and you're taking what I said the wrong way. If there are multiple complaints about the same issue from a group of people that before now have had nothing in common except for mudding, there is a problem, and rather then sit here and say to them, 'Alright, I know what comes where, let me hoard this until I deem you worthy of the information.', I would much rather put it out there so they CAN plan, and DO know. They obviously WANT to know, or 1)Wouldn't read the post and 2)Wouldn't ask about the skills.

I had a rough guess where skills came to play, but for the most part I learned a lot on my own, but with that I am unsure how watching someone has anything to do with skills within skillsets.....When I had a question about a particular skill I usually asked an informed question other than that the rest I just gussed on. It doesn't take a genius to realize for an Novice Assassin(at the time) that I would need Assassination/Agility/Weapons with a slight mix of the other basics. I just don't ever recall asking an entire guildset be sent my way.

I never said withhold information from anyone, I just view it as quite silly to post entire skillsets that people haven't earned, I feel it's more of an honor to achieve such skills in game than being able to view them in a forum. That is the beauty of being Unsurpassable in all skillsets, but if you're wanting to share what you've earned that is entirely up to you. I am just saying that I fully disagree with such a decision. I am done on the issue now though.
