The way I see it is...if it's something you can hear while speaking, sigh/laugh/groan, it should be fine, otherwise it's just...not great?

Someone said, "Nothing in Akanbar makes sense." Someone should also say, "Nothing in Akanbar is In Role."

          audible emotes

I will agree Chyren, with the audible emotes being fine. That does make sense.

I agree entirely, except there's room for audible ones like *laugh* but even that I try to avoid whenever possible.

My general rule of thumb is that if you can hear it, you can emote it via tells (as in laugh, giggle, sigh and... others that I can't think of at 1am). Stuff like hugs, pokes, stabbing and whatnot aren't things you can convey via verbal words/expressions, so they shouldn't be used in IC tells.

edit: oh wow. I definitely didn't see the fourth page where what I said above was basically said. My bad.

The fact that lockpicking seems to be completely redundant thanks to excessive crystals, and/or magic seals...

                (*gasp* I can post again!)
Edit: I understand the crystals, not the seals. Why seal village taverns up?

                  1) Characters who are significantly older than Xinia complain about being low-leveled (not just older by a few years)
                  2) People who don't take responsibility for their actions
                  3) People who bring ooc topics into arguments between two characters
                  4) ...That I don't have a place to put all these parchments from the treasure hunt other than in my pack (spammy!)
                  5) Mary sue characters (people with blonde hair, blue eyes, plump lips, supple breasts, etc)
                  6) Emo characters

Chyren, and his constant never ending deluge of 'what's the point?' Yes i understand negativity is a necessary component of life. Keeps us grounded, but seriously, everytime one of us has had an idea and posted it, Chyren comes along and says 'why bother?'
                          Exaggerated? Maybe. True? Definitely.

Ysallyra and their incessant occupying of every village they can. No attempts at trading are made except for Adela who just spams aliases and macros unless she's trading to raise gold. So when Ysallyra runs low on comms, let's go occupy someone. I think what irks me the most is that I flat out said on the forums that Elysium was starting up roleplay with Lymr and Baresh on their raids, so the next day, Ysallyra decides to go station militia in Lymr.

Isn't there some kind of limit to villages you can have troops in? From what I can see, it's going to become Bugia, Forloch, Haddam and Lymr. No offense, guys, but you're acting like the little sibling that wants everything that the older sibling has. If big brother decides he doesn't want village A anymore and would rather have B, so does little brother. It's irritating and heck, I don't care that 90% of the forum goers are ysallyran. Sorry, but it's my "BAH" moment for the day.

Let's see. I'll add a few of mine.
                              • Players using alts to pass information, despite this clearly being against HELP MULTIPLAYING. ("My friend [Alt] told me/sent me a message/et cetera that [insert situation here].") We know you're doing it. Don't.
                              • Emotes in shouts. Of any kind.
                              • Characters not properly playing their role in the interactions with Divine characters. (I.E. "Ha ha, you can't touch me!" "Go ahead and punish me more! I dare you! This doesn't bother me!") Your character in the world of Akanbar will either fear a god, or simply cease to exist. We aren't in the business of destroying characters for this, because Akanbar is not a permadeath game. This doesn't mean your character should pretend to be invincible. They're not.

People who fail to realize that when I say something, there is intelligence behind it. I've played this game about as long as almost everyone, except the Beta people, and the group right after them. I understand how things have worked up until now, how they've changed, how changes are usually made.

I am a negative person sometimes, but it is usually because that is what certain things need. Akanbar has one to three Divine, maybe two now, that actually log on (Not counting Theo). Some of the things people propose are just too far fetched to be done and make it worth the time.

Don't get me wrong, I am ALL FOR stuff that makes Akanbar interesting again. Ilessa can attest to the struggle that Chyren is going through trying to find something that keeps him interested enough to be active. This is both an IC and OOC struggle, and neither Chyren nor Alistair have helped, no matter what I try and get involved in.

Maybe it's because Golgonath is being run by the same bunch as ran it 15 IG years ago, right after Chyren left, the same crew in Ysallyra, (almost) the same crew for Elysium. Maybe it's because its all the same people in Akanbar again, except for the Atala twins and 'Lack. People switch cities, but guess what? They're the exact same people. They don't do different RP, if they RP at all. They don't become more or less active, if they were even active to begin with. New skills make us all jump for joy! But those get boring too, because there is only 1 unique guild to Ysallyra and Golgo, with Elys having 2.

Was the trading system ever perfected? It seems like half the villages run out of gold after a few purchases, or accumulate things at such a slow rate that it doesn't even matter to check them every day like it used to be. Has the Murandi situation been fixed? Can the caravans find their way out of the desert? Can we raid caravans? Have our troops guard them?

Are the quests back to normal? For a long time, Lovendo's flute didn't reset, and when Leanora finally fixed it, it was broken within a day again. There was one other one, because I remember mentioning both, but I've no idea what it was now.

These are the kinds of things that make me say BAH and rage to the point of writing a post to try and describe the situation for players who lose interest, and things that make them get to that point.

Edit: Go ahead and rip my post apart.
