  • A poem.

I wrote this in...286, like it says at the bottom, so it is almost 20 years old....yet it carries the same meaning. Thought I'd share it with you all.
    _________________________________________

Born not into the trees, but in the light of the sun.
Heart like steel, his prinipals never waivering.
His friendship one of the best around.
His words strike a place, you know they're meant.

    Always giving, never taking.
Always with honour, even in times not so great.
A symbol of the city so large.
Synonomous with the name Ysallya itself.

He leads with his heart, which he wears upon his sleeve.
His mind not far behind, always searching for the right answer.
He trains his guildmates with a set plan inside.
The knowledge and character they show, owe some of that to him.

Just the mere thought of him leaving brings a tear to my eye.
What would we do without the man so many depend on.
His compliments bring smiles to my face.
His scoldings make me angry, but I realize that he is right.

I try to be like this man.
    But I cannot see.
How he can do this all the time.
Yet still have time for each and every person.

He is a like a father to me.
My source of knowledge and theory.
When he leaves I will be devastated.
But he would want me to continue on.

    __________
    Written by Chyren.
In Akanbar it is the 4th day of Talen.
    The year is 286.

How nice of you to write such heartwarming things about Virgil. LOL.

I was wondering if you'd ever re-post this.

Still as nice as I remember.
Zycandos and Jaethor's karaoke rendition of 'I Feel Pretty'.

Jaethor goes solo with 'The Sound of Music'.

Minstrel Sharallin sings: "The lord of revenants is a withered man, sunken by age and evil. But his blood is sweet, say the young men - and they should know?"

While going through some old things in Chyren's array of crap, I found another poem, one that I had never even remembered writing down, nor composing. I'm not even sure who it's for, although I have a guess or two.

                To you, I give all.
No mountain keeps me from you.
There are no oceans for me to fall into.

Here I sit, on this old Oak tree.
Thinking of you, and how things will be.
I get lost in all my memories.

                To think back.
To the time when I rode for the Sun.
                You and I were nothing.
                Forbidden lust unspoken.

                And then I was gone.
                Enveloped.
                Darkness encompassed my all.
                I had changed.
                Leader of the Horde.

                The fire still burned.
                It wasn't me.
                It couldn't be.
                The facade was broken.

                I came home.
                I found you.
                Rough times came.
                I almost lost myself.

                You let me in.
                I can't understand how.
                You gave me hope.
                You gave me goals.
You gave me a reason to be.

You gave me everything you could.
And in return, I give myself to you.
This one is after the one in the first post, though it is still quite a bit old.
