So very recently IRE has released a new game called Midkemia Online, which is supposed to be based from a book. However, this game has so many features just like Akanbar. The city I started out in had Clansman(woman) just like Ysallyra, and you have broken down currency, copper, silver, gold, etc.
I don't know what Akanbar was founded on, but I do know it has been around for a long time, and I do know that no other IRE games feature anything like what Akanbar has. So the question seems to be, did IRE poach Akanbar's unique game system and use their popular name to whore it with people? It looks that way to me.
